Metro South Health Scheme

Often, whilst you are on the waiting list for public dental treatment, Metro South – Oral Health Services may often offer you a voucher which can be used at a private dental practice. This scheme allows you to be seen at a private dental clinic whilst you are on the public dental waiting list.

Balmoral Dental Centre has an agreement with Metro South Oral Health Services (MSHOHS) to accept dental vouchers of all the below:

• $260 for Emergency Dental Treatment (green coloured voucher), only available with Dr. Harry Kim,
• $750 for General Dental Services (green coloured voucher), only available with Dr. Harry Kim,
• Denture Services (yellow coloured voucher), only available with Dr. Paul Abbott (Prosthetist)

AM I ELIGIBLE?

To be eligible for the public dental scheme – and thus your vouchers to be presented, you must be a Queensland resident, and receiving benefits from any of the following:

• Pensioner Concession cards issued by Centrelink
• Health Care Card
• Queensland Seniors Card
• Pensioner Concession Cards issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
• Commonwealth Seniors Health care card

All children in the guardianship of the Director-General, Department of Families, Youth and Community Care are eligible for this scheme.

All Dependents are eligible if you satisfy one of the above categories also, and can receive free public dental care.

What Do I Do if I am Eligible?

If you believe you are eligible for public dental treatment you should contact your nearest Queensland Oral Health Facility on 1300 300 850. You will need to attend the oral health clinic and there, Metro South Health may issue you a voucher if they do not have the capacity to attend to your needs. Remember to bring a form of identification.

If you are given a voucher, you will also be given a list of all dental clinics participating in this dental voucher program.
